BIO

An joined USAA in 2013 and is currently the Life and Investments Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and leads the Enterprise Financial Risk Management (EFRM) team within Enterprise Risk and Compliance (ERC) providing independent oversight over the Life and CFO organizations. 

  

Prior to this assignment, she led the Enterprise Risk Reporting, Data and Analytics team; served as the Chief Risk Officer's Chief of Staff and was responsible for developing and implementing strategic and operational objectives of the Chief Risk Office. She also led the Chief Risk Office Stress Testing Analytics team, focusing on scenario design as well as oversight over Dodd-Frank Act Stress Testing (DFAST) and Enterprise Stress Testing efforts. Prior to those roles, An worked for 3 years in the Property & Casualty (P&C) Risk Management department, developing, and leading the risk management framework for USAA Limited. In addition, she provided oversight over P&C Model Risk Management and other financial risks associated with the P&C Line of business. 

  

An was born and raised in Belgium prior to moving to San Antonio, Texas. Prior to joining USAA, An worked as a Life Actuary in Belgium for both PwC Belgium as well as ING. In those roles she gained experience in life insurance reserving and valuation, Solvency II requirements, and International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) developments. An holds a Master’s in Mathematics from the University of Antwerp (Belgium) and a Master’s in Actuarial Science from the University of Leuven (Belgium). 

  

An is a proud military spouse to her husband, Darrell, who served in the US Air Force for over 20 years, and they have three beautiful children together. An enjoys traveling, spending time with the family, and volunteering at her church in the nursery on the weekend. An also encourages her peers, team, and family to volunteer locally to include supporting the Food Bank. Additionally, An serves as the Honorary Commander of the JBSA-Randolph 12th Flying Training Wing at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio.
