Join the TMC crew as we partner up with Team Rubicon (TR), Team Red, White, and Blue (RWB) and various other VSO's at The 9th Annual "Run As One Event this year after a 5-year hiatus.
Note - It's 3.1 Miles Run/Walk/Jog if you plan to participate. If not, you can also help us pass out water, juice and other supplies to those who are going to participate.
Details:
Who: Awesome Tri-State Area veterans and citizens
What: 5K run/walk/hike alongside 12th Ave from the Intrepid Museum down to _ and back.
When: Noon on Sunday, May 19th 2024.
Where: Pier 86 (By the Intrepid)
Afterwards: We will have a social at The Perfect Pint (It's the westside Perfect Pint - West 45th Street between 6th and 7th Aves) after the event is over.
Why - To unite the veteran community and honor Marine Corps Veteran (and original Team Rubicon member) Clay Hunt
Notes -
1. Pack light (just come to walk and run) as there will be no bag drop.
2. Team Rubicon, Team RWB and The Mission Continues will provide food at the Perfect Pint, but there will be a cash (credit) bar. In other words, if you plan to get your drink on, you're on your own as far as payment. Please drink responsibly. We don't have bail money for you.
3. General William Tecumseh Sherman is still the best General ever! Here is a quote from his memoirs about his time at West Point:
"At the Academy I was not considered a good soldier, for at no time was I selected for any office, but remained a private throughout the whole four years. Then, as now, neatness in dress and form, with a strict conformity to the rules, were the qualifications required for office, and I suppose I was found not to excel in any of these. In studies I always held a respectable reputation with the professors, and generally ranked among the best, especially in drawing, chemistry, mathematics, and natural philosophy. My average demerits, per annum, were about one hundred and fifty, which reduced my final class standing from number four to six".

By Bus - Take the M12 or M50 to West 46th Street and 12th Ave
By Car - The address is 1 Intrepid Square, New York, NY 10036. You can also enter Pier 86 if that don't work.
