Inspire and unite your community around a cause. Whether it’s running a destination marathon, or hosting a crawfish boil in your backyard, you can help raise support for our mission.
I was going to college and I remember hearing about the the Twin Towers and remembering that we had a church member who had a brother who was working there. I believe he was trapped inside and never made it out. When I got to school I saw hundreds of student all huddled together around campus. Some where praying some where just standing around looking really lost. I served on a critical incident team that did a lot of debriefings that year for folks. I was also an EMT but was not working with EMS at the time because I was in school. Later when they built the foot prints and museum at Ground Zero I was able to visit. A day I will never forget.
I have been a member of CAP for the last 20 years. During 9-11 a lot of our CAP air crew flew over the twin towers and took pictures for NY emergency management agencies and FEMA. I have always wanted to work with EMS and Fire. I've been a BLS Instructor and first responder for most of my life. I have a great respect for all of our military. I also have two friends who were serving in the Navy then, one at the Pentagon and one that served on the USS Cole. Both lost many friends that day at the Pentagon and earlier on board the USS Cole.
I am very active in volunteer services. I will always support veterans and our Fire fighters, EMS and Law enforcement.
