Our TMC Baltimore Platoon is a lively group of veteran and non-veteran volunteers who care deeply about using our gifts to better people and communities. Formed in 2015, our primary objective is to support organizations focusing on neighborhood revitalization, community food apartheid issues, and health and wellness for community residents. We bring that heart of service to West and South Baltimore by helping amazing organizations Intersection of Change, City of Refuge, and Filbert Street Garden achieve their missions. We have had the privilege of working alongside the fantastic leaders of these organizations by doing a wide range of service projects that included building a meditative garden on a farm, renovation work to increase resident learning opportunities, planting flowers to beautify spaces, restoring garden beds so community members can grow fresh food, picking up trash in frequently used lots so youth could feel safe, as well as provide growth opportunities for young leaders through our specialized team bonding events. While partnering with purpose-driven organizations is fulfilling, the most gratifying part of our Baltimore Platoon is its impact on our Veteran volunteers and community. It feels great to be a member of a team. As a Veteran, you can come and feel you belong, have fun, and serve others. We look forward to you joining our team!
