Join 1st Service Platoon for The Mission Continues National Day of Service in remembrance of September 11th.
Scope of work:
We will be working in 3 sites, Hazelwood Initiative has asked us to help with cleaning up and painting the gazebo and build sitting benches in it for community members to socialize within the parklet. We will also be doing mulch clean up and landscape freshening up.
We will also be working at the Summer MarketPlace on 2nd avenue weatherizing the vendor stands and reseed the grass.
And at the KaBoom site, we will be building a limestone path connecting the alley and the street, along with repairing some picnic tables and benches, planting shrubs and trees.
Live music by KRUNK Movement and a light breakfast and lunch provided by local businesses..
Also, this is a kid friendly event and children's activities are planned.
What To Wear :
Blue TMC service shirts. If you dont got one, we will have them.
What To Bring :
rain gear if its raining. PPE and H2O will be provided.
on-street parking and across from the summer marketplace, we have permission to park on the grass lot.

Accordingly, The Mission Continues is requesting your consent to conduct a criminal background check in the event that your Platoon is engaging in a service project with a host organization that requires a criminal background check. By checking the box below, you authorize The Mission Continues to conduct a criminal background check.
If such a background check is required, it will be completed and used in accordance with applicable law. The Mission Continues does not automatically disqualify persons from Platoons based on criminal convictions. We want as many people as possible to have the opportunity to move forward in their lives through service, at the same time that we seek to protect the communities we serve together.
