This year marks the 19th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and The Mission Continues is issuing a call to serve and stand united. Houston 2nd Platoon is organizing a service project at Beauty's Community Garden for veterans and local volunteers to come together and make a difference in their community, and remember those who served and sacrificed in the wake of 9/11. This project will also support our Operation Nourish campaign. Join us as we help to sustain this amazing garden in Independence Heights! Lunch, water, Gatorade, and a TMC shirt will be provided to all volunteers. All skills and ages welcome. Mask, hand sanitizer, and gloves will be provided to all volunteers. Temperature will be checked upon arrival. Social distancing practices will be enforced. Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
