Operation Nourish: Food Distribution Day at Redland Christian Academy
Please note: If you are feeling sick, have had any COVID symptoms which include fever, cough and shortness of breath in the past 14 days, or identify as having a higher risk for severe illness please stay home and be safe. While we encourage participation for those that are low-risk and in good health, we ask everyone, irrespective of age and health status, to adopt extra safety measures. We welcome you to join any of our virtual service events and look forward to seeing you healthy at a future project.
Platoon Leaders will ensure the safety of our volunteers, partners and the community by implementing safety protocols and procedures . Please contact the event organizer if you have any questions.
COVID-19 has exposed and exacerbated the underlying fragility of our social support systems, including food security and depleted the volunteer forces that typically support this work. As a result, more Americans are going hungry and our institutions are struggling to keep up. The demand at food banks across the country has skyrocketed in recent weeks — increasing by as much as 600 percent at some — underscoring just how expansive the effects of the economic downturn have been.
In support of Operation Nourish, The Mission Continues Miami Platoon is supporting the Bridge of Hope at their major food distribution event at Redland Christian Academy on July 18th. Please join us in support this major food distribution in Miami-Dade county by loading up vehicle with much needed food.
Water and snacks will be provided for volunteers.
