Have you been stuck at home for the past couple of weeks? Are you starting to go a little out of your mind and need something to do? Are you looking for something to teach your kids while they are out of school? Well then, you have found an answer. The Mission Continues Portland Platoon will be fostering seedlings during this shutdown with a future project to transplant them in to a community garden. This is a great opportunity to not only help our community, but also a chance to teach yourself and/or your family how to grow vegetables.
We will be conducting this project over the next few weeks in preparation for a bigger project once we are all able to get back together. Once you have registered, you will be mailed a seedling starter kit along with a packet of seeds. From there, just follow the instructions and begin to grow the seeds sent to you. At a later date and time, we will all come together to transplant the vegetables in to a community garden. At that time, you will be able to see what other people have grown and we can see who has the greenest thumb (hint, it won't be me). Those vegetables will not only help feed people throughout the community, but also teach them how to grow their own vegetables at home.
Please make sure you include your address so we can mail you the packet.
