Houston Platoon

Event overview

Houston 2nd Platoon is returning to Beauty's Community Garden! Join us as we help to sustain this amazing garden in Independence Heights! Lunch, water, Gatorade, gloves and a TMC shirt will be provided to all volunteers. All skills and ages welcome. Project Scope: - Till existing soil to remove/uproot any remaining root systems of weeds - Plant drought tolerant herbs (Rosemary, Basil, Lavender, Lemongrass) and Aloe Vera throughout the space - Apply 4 inch layer of mulch - Plant passionflower vine to fill in northern half of fence - Using wood chips as a mulch for in between beds - Remove Mulberry tree - Construct a fire pit over mulberry tree using historic heights bricks
