Chicago Veterans Ruck March

May 22, 2020

10:00 AM - 02:00 PM CDT

Chicago Platoon

Event overview

Please join us in support of CHICAGO VETERANS annual ruck march. We will be helping distribute water to participants as they pass the halfway point during their 20 mile ruck March while showing our support for their service. Every Memorial Day weekend, Veterans, family members, and friends from all over the United States come together to walk 20 miles through Chicago to honor and remember the service members we lost at home and on the battlefield. The 20-mile hike through Chicago represents the 20 veterans we lose every single day to suicide. “I’ve lost friends and family members, this Ruck March is my way of coping and remembering them. Walking side by side thousands of people who share a similar experience is something I will always cherish.” – Charlie S. Please join us on Friday, May 22nd, 2020 and help us raise awareness around Veteran suicide and help end this epidemic. If you’re as passionate about our cause as we are, we encourage you to sign up for the Ruck March, volunteer for the event, create a fundraising page, or if you're up for it, do all three! This will be an amazing and emotional event we know you will be proud of. Our goal is to honor our fallen brothers and sisters by raising as much awareness as possible around PTSD and veteran suicide epidemic through our Chicago Veterans Ruck March 2020

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
