Austin Platoon

Event overview

In honor of MLK Day, a national day of service, Austin 1st is partnering with Austin Diaper Bank in order to support their mission. They are dedicated to providing Central Texas with diapers and hygiene products. They distribute 7000 diapers a month and need help from folks like you. From Austin Diaper Bank: Your group will be counting, sorting, fulfilling distributions, wrapping diapers and working on other projects in our warehouse during volunteer shifts. We have snacks and water available for volunteers. Feel free to bring a refillable water bottle. The Austin Diaper Bank runs on volunteer power. We need your help to ensure all our neighbors in Central Texas have the supplies they need to live healthy empowered lives. Monetary donations are greatly appreciated this holiday season and can be made by check or on our website: https://www.austindiapers.org/donate-dollars.html We suggest volunteers donate one package of diapers each or donate the equivalent monetarily; Our most needed sizes as of this month are 5, and, 6 diapers and 4T/5T pull-ups and adult L, XL/XXL underwear style. We're also collecting diaper cream and wipes (both must be unopened). We accept all styles and sizes of baby and adult diapers and pull-ups, even open packages and loose diapers in good condition.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
