Celebrating Veterans Day in Service at Morse St. Shelter

November 09, 2019

10:00 AM - 02:00 PM EST

Boston Platoon

Event overview

Veterans Day celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans. On this Veterans Day weekend 2019, the Boston 1st Service Platoon invites you to join our veteran volunteers and community members for an impactful day of service as we launch a new phase of projects with our partner Hildebrand's (2) Dorchester shelters. Together we will clean-up and landscape the backyard of these sites to make them safe and accessible to children and families, painting murals to hang on the fencing to block train tracks, scrape and paint the porch, and more! This is a family-friendly event, and we will have music, lunch, and water onsite for volunteers. Come make a difference with us, and dedicate your service to honor those who have served!

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
