Service Project

Operation Night Watch PDX

August 10, 2019

01:00 PM - 05:00 PM PDT

Portland Platoon

Event overview

Operation Nightwatch operates a facility downtown Portland at St. Stephens Episcopal Church located at 1432 SW 13th St. This program supports the homeless community in the Portland area as well as at a location in the Clackamas area. To better serve this community a volunteer is currently running afoot and wound care clinic where they also provide hygiene and other small medical items. Recently, it was determined the space she currently operates in needs a makeover to better store supplies, to create more sanitary conditions, and to provide a more hospitable and welcoming environment. To accomplish this goal, we need your support. We will be moving furniture, removing carpet, installing new flooring, installing curtains for privacy and painting the entire room. So lace up your boots, grab a pair of gloves and come help us create a cleaner, safer environment to better serve the homeless population in Portland.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
