Project Homeless Connect

August 01, 2019

07:30 AM - 01:30 PM CDT

Columbia MO Platoon

Event overview

This is a One-Stop shop for people experiencing homelessness in our community where they can receive a variety of health and human services. These services include; medical, mental health, substance abuse, legal, housing, free haircuts, eyeglasses, food, clothing and more. The event will be held at the Family Impact Center at 105 E Ash St, Columbia, MO. They are wanting to have us volunteers from 0730-1030 am or 1030-1230 pm, we will be helping to set up, checking in, directing people, serving food, and tearing down after the event ends at 1230 pm, etc. If you can't volunteer the whole time you can choose a time that works for you. You'll have the opportunity to become more familiar with resources in the community, meet new people and help to provide basic needs to those experiencing homelessness. This is one of our semi annual support events that is really a very interesting, knowledgeable and helpful time for our homeless and volunteers as well. Hope to see you there!

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
