Mission Continues Kayaking the LA river

To show our appreciation of your volunteer work and to provide a valuable experience of the River, we would like to extend an invitation to spend a few hours with us on the LA River in a kayak. Details: The LA River Recreation Zone provides access to recreate and explore two sections of the Los Angeles River including boating, fishing and bird watching. The River Recreation Zone is managed by the MRCA in coordination with the City, Army Corps of Engineers, and County, and accessible from Memorial Day to September 30th. The M.R.C.A. has a flotilla of kayaks and equipment (including helmets, personal flotation devices, and paddles) and we hope to explore the river and allow you to enjoy a perspective that was not publicly accessible for the last several decades. Please park at the launch point, on Burbank Blvd cross of the LA River, (shown on the attached map) to the river start. We will outfit you with gear, and then proceed with our kayaks into the River. What To Wear

Wear closed-toed shoes (tennis shoes, water shoes, etc.). NO SANDALS or open-toed shoes. This is important and for your safety as you will be walking in the River. • Wear clothes that dry quickly (avoid wearing jeans) • Wear sunscreen • Towel (to keep in your car) • Hat • Water • Small dry bag (if you want to bring a phone or camera on board your kayak). Zip- lock bags are not recommended for electronics.
