Don't be a Chicken about building a Coop with Harlem Grown! Part 3 of 3

June 01, 2019

10:30 AM - 03:00 PM EDT

New York City Platoon

Event overview

Harlem Grown has been impacting children's lives in Central Harlem for years by educating them on healthy living and sustainability. They have been growing over the years with the help of The Mission Continues and have been increasing their impact. Part of that grow is building a brand new chicken coop at the 127th street farm! This chicken coop will enable Harlem Grown to raise sustainable food and teach kids in the area about livestock and well .. chickens! This will be a multi day event. The building of the chicken coop will take place over the next three Saturdays. This will the last iteration of the event that will lead to a completed chicken coop. So come out and make a difference in Central Harlem! Build a chicken coop and have some fun!! Charlie Mike!

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
