Service Project

Hope House Project

July 27, 2019

08:30 AM - 12:30 PM CDT

St. Louis Platoon

Event overview

Jennings School District's Hope House exist to ensure that children experiencing homelessness don't have their education interrupted. We met with Hope House 2's parent and identified some projects to improve the exterior of the home, and add some outdoor social space. Tasks include cleaning, sealing, and painting the interior and exterior foundation, washing, sanding, and staining the deck, touching up landscaping, and creating a patio and walkway. We will complete projects based on the number of volunteers, and continue to work on the property in the coming months. Some painting projects are accessible to volunteers with reduced mobility. The driveway connects to the sidewalk and street.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
