Rebuilding a Healthy Neighborhood 2019

May 04, 2019

08:00 AM - 03:00 PM EDT

Columbus OH Platoon

Event overview

Join the Columbus 1st Platoon as they give back to one of their own during the 2019 Rebuilding a Healthy Neighborhood event led by ModCon Living!! In 2018, the platoon had the opportunity to home and garden work for Stan Griggs, a WWII veteran and this year, the platoon has an opportunity to do the same for Albert Gill, a Gulf War Veteran living in the Little Farms neighborhood of West Columbus. Activities for the day include tilling and seeding the yard, power-washing the house, painting inside and out and other smaller odds and ends to make sure he has a safe and healthy home to live in! These activities are all part of the larger Rebuilding a Healthy Neighborhood event taking place in Little Farms. The event will see 300-400 volunteers working on 15+ houses in the same area on the same day. Don't miss this opportunity!! NOTE: Minors should be at least 14 years old to volunteer. In addition to registering with us, please register ahead of time ModCon Living at: http://modconliving.civicore.com To register, fill out a new volunteer application found on the left side of the page. Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
