Event overview

Perez Plaza is a small park featuring murals and mosaics that honor Manuel Perez Jr. who was, posthumously, awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions in the Battle of Luzon, Philippine Islands in February 1945, a month before he was killed in action. Perez Plaza is an important place for summer events in Little Village. We will be giving the plaza a deep cleaning to prepare for the warmer months.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
