To celebrate and honor Earth Day, USAA and The Mission Continues volunteers will come together to serve one of our local natural habitats. The Mission Continues is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing transitioning veterans an opportunity to make an impact in their community through community service projects. Volunteers are needed for garden maintenance and restoration of wildlife habitat and trails. Tasks vary and may include weeding, mulching, pruning, and planting. Volunteers of all ages are welcome. Mitchell Lake Audubon Center, hosts 300+ birds annually on their 1,200-acre sanctuary which includes four diverse habitats for our wildlife: wetlands, woodlands, brushlands and grasslands. Volunteers sign in will take place at the Leeper House. Minimum age to volunteer is 9 years old.

What to Wear and Bring: · Closed-toe, sturdy shoes · Long pants/shirts to protect from insects and sun · Sunblock, hat, sunglasses: whatever you need to protect yourself from the sun's UV rays.
What to Bring
Please bring a refillable water bottle to keep hydrated while volunteering. · Any personal tools, gloves, etc. you would like to bring, but they must be clearly labeled.
