Park Day at the Monocacy National Battlefield

April 06, 2019

08:30 AM - 03:00 PM EDT

Washington, DC Platoon

Event overview

The Mission Continues and The Wounded Warrior Project will join forces with the American Battlefield Trust to take part in Park Day at the Monocacy National Battlefield in Frederick, Maryland. Park Day is an annual event that brings history enthusiasts and volunteers together in an effort to help keep our nation’s heritage not only preserved, but pristine. Since 1996, the American Battlefield Trust has sponsored Park Day, an annual hands-on preservation event to help Civil War and now Revolutionary War & War of 1812 battlefields and historic sites take on maintenance projects large and small. After taking part in service projects across the battlefield in the morning, TMC and WWP volunteers will come together to enjoy each other’s fellowship over a catered lunch and to learn more about each other’s programs and services, as well as more about the battlefield itself. Participants will rally at the Visitor’s Center at 8:30 AM on Park Day and then turn to on projects throughout the morning prior to concluding with a fine lunch.
