Service Project

Spring Service: True North

March 23, 2019

09:00 AM - 02:00 PM CDT

Columbia MO Platoon

Event overview

We will be going to True North to finish up our painting project. True North is a Non-Profit Organization who's mission is to provide a safe environment by educating, empowering and advocating for victims of domestic and sexual violence. Their goal is to provide victims with safe housing, advocacy and support. We will be going back there to continue painting the exterior of the administrative building for the Shelter. This building has not been painted or had any cosmetic improvements in a few years, other than what we've already did in November 2018 before the winter weather sat in on us and we were unable to complete it until now. We would like to see as many of you there as possible for this project, there's a lot more painting that needs to be done! We will have all the paint brushes and rollers and paint there for you, including some ladders and plastic gloves.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
