Event overview

Just Do Good with The Compton Initiative is a project day like no other for our LA3 Platoon! The Compton Initiative is a non-profit organization founded in 2006. This group set up a commitment of 40-years to restore the City of Compton by painting local homes, schools and churches on a quarterly large scale project day basis with the support of individual volunteers and other community service organizations. AND NOW LA3 is BACK IN THE MIX! Our platoon as been added to the roster of support organizations and assigned a project in which the platoon will be solely responsible for accomplishing. This day's work will be a great time to get our platoon out in front of other service organizations and we hope to show our strength in numbers! No matter the turnout we will always fall back on our usual work ethic and dedication to producing results. Our platoon will be one of the few veteran based organizations and we encourage everyone to bring everyone! The day's event will start early but arrival any time is always an option. More details will be passed per the scope of work we have ahead of us. Doing Good with the Compton Initiative will be a quarterly commitment for us moving forward and LA3 most definitely looks forward to this collaboration!

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
