HerMission Day of Service with Mill City Grows

March 16, 2019

10:00 AM - 02:00 PM EDT

Boston Platoon

Event overview

In honor of Women's History Month, the Lowell 1st Service Platoon has organized a women-led day of service supporting Mill City Grows. Mill City Grows is a non-profit organization founded by two awesome women, and focused on fostering food justice by improving physical health, economic independence and environmental sustainability in Lowell through increased access to land, locally-grown food and education. We are proud to be one of their partners! On Saturday, March 16th we will continue with phase 2 of Mill City Grows office renovation with painting, laying down new flooring, light carpentry work, packing/organizing, and more! All of our projects will be women-led, but the service day is open to both women and men. This project is for ages 10+, and lunch will be provided.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
