Lets help Missouri University complete their Miner Challenge!!! Miner Challenge is Missouri University of Science and Technology's Alternative Spring Break Program where groups of students spend their spring break in immersive volunteer experiences across the U.S. It is a student led program where participants bond with a small team throughout the year while they develop leadership skills, gain awareness of social issues, and work to improve communities to prepare for their week-long experience. About Our Venue: Since 1981, Stable Strides has partnered with the horse to provide the highest quality physical, emotional, behavioral, and psychological health services in Southern Colorado. Their Mission is to significantly improve the lives of individuals through a connection with horses.Their Vision is to be an essential solution to strong and healthy individuals, families, and communities. More than 250 veterans, active duty service members, and their families come to StableStrides each year to work with horses. While grooming, learning ground skills, riding, and interacting with the horses, members of the military are learning ways to overcome the struggles of everyday civilian life and heal from emotional and physical scars. Stable Strides therapists and instructors are trained in military culture and understand that veterans, service members, and their families have a different set of needs than the civilians we serve. Their programs are structured specifically to serve those needs. We will have an introduction to their programs and a work day!
