Veterans in the entertainment industry come out to support the community and serve again. This will be a great opportunity to work alongside each other to show community of Boyle Heights that we value them.
Check in will begin at 8:00 AM, welcome and and work will start at 9:00 AM.
We will be painting a mural in the stairs from the underground parking, painting the staff restrooms and adding graphics, painting a mural for the Parents and Family Center, adding an outdoor whiteboard to their garden, painting the front and back gates, sanding and sealing picnic tables and benches, painting a mural on the auditorium wall, and adding storage/shelving to the STEAM/robotics classrooms.
What To Wear :
Your Mission Continues blue T-shirt, closed toe-shoes, along with any other sturdy clothing you don't mind getting dirty or paint on them.
What To Bring :
Water bottle, sunscreen, hat and a great attitude.
There is parking onsite.
Inclement Weather Plan :
Certain host organizations, such as schools, may prohibit volunteers with certain types of criminal convictions from participating in a service project. Accordingly, The Mission Continues is requesting your consent to conduct a criminal background check in the event that your Platoon is engaging in a service project with a host organization that requires a criminal background check. By checking the box below, you authorize The Mission Continues to conduct a criminal background check.
If such a background check is required, it will be completed and used in accordance with applicable law. The Mission Continues does not automatically disqualify persons from Platoons based on criminal convictions. We want as many people as possible to have the opportunity to move forward in their lives through service, at the same time that we seek to protect the communities we serve together.
