Event overview

Martin Luther King Jr. was, is a hero of our time who epitomized selfless service and sacrifice for the common goods, for social progress and social justice. It is in his vision that we welcome you and are excited to host the first major service project in 2019 in conjunction with our national remembrance of Martin Luther King Jr, Come on out, and join the Tacoma 1st platoon this January 19th, 2019 for an amazing day of service. The platoon will be supporting Friends of McKinley Park volunteers and Metro Parks Staff as we continue to build on this partnership. The Mission Continues aims to promote and empower neighborhood identity, and preserve playgrounds and historical education for youth...both of which fall right in line with our partners. There will be tons to do, and plenty of projects for the kids, so bring the whole family. Lunch will be provided...as well as hot drinks!
