Event overview

Join Fort Worth Platoon as we honor MLK Day 2019! MLK Day of Service is an opportunity for each of us to reflect on the principles of equality that Dr. King embodied. Through his example, Dr. King challenged and empowered individuals to take action and lift up their neighbors and communities by volunteering. In his honor, please join us as we continue our build of the first and only community garden in Oak Cliff! We will break up into teams to complete the below projects: 1. Paint and plant in the 8 planter boxes and 6 beds 2. Build a melon patch area 3. Paint a mural 4. Create a front entrance sign 5. Build 4 rainwater collection system 6. Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
