January 26, 2019

08:00 AM - 01:00 PM EST

Columbus OH Platoon

Event overview

***UPDATE*** New Project Date: Jan 26, 2019 **************** Join us as we honor Dr. Martin Luther King's legacy with a day of service on the Southside of Columbus with lunch provided from Chic-Fil-A! The platoon has partnered with WWP and will be continuing their fight against food insecurity with service projects at Holy Rosary St. John Food Pantry, Community Kitchen and Luther Social Services Champion Food Pantry. The Challenge: Making the food pantries warm and welcoming locations for local residents and efficient spaces for the staff. Your Task: Repainting walls in both food pantries, deep cleaning the floors, fixing holes in the walls and deep cleaning the kitchen!! Your Motivation:"Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love." - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
