Join the Oakland 1st Service Platoon as we volunteer at Hoover Hawks' Victory Garden with the NorCal Resilience Network and Urban Agriculture & Food Justice course (UC Berkeley) for a special Learning + Building day at the garden! 9-12pm | Rainwater Catchment workshop with permaculture designer Brennan Bird of www.earthbench.org (This portion is part of the Resilient Hubs Initiative by NorCal Resilience Network and is funded through a grant by EBMUD). Snacks will be served. 2-5pm | Earthen Building with cutting edge earthen structure architect Massey Burke of www.masseyburke.com (This portion is funded through a grant by Annie’s Organic Foods) Come for any portion of the event that you are interested in!

Parking Information

The gates onto the schoolyard from 33rd Street (cars) or Brockhurst (walking up) will be open. Because Fridays are a NO PARKING day around the building from 12-3 pm, parking will instead be available inside the yard.
