The Mission Continues is coming to the Sun City! What better way to celebrate than with veteran volunteers serving alongside local partners and the community!? We invite you to help kick-start our newest community operation to create impact and lay the foundation for service. With a focus on food security in the binational Chamizal Neighborhood, El Paso 1st Platoon will be joining forces with the community at Bowie High School service the Bowie Jardin Community Garden- one of the largest gardens serving the area. Some of the tasks to be completed are: Harvesting vegetables, fruits, and herbs; Improve drip irrigation system Planting seeds and seedlings (Kid Friendly) Garden bed preparation, weeding, pruning (Kid Friendly) Garden weeding and grass removal (Kid Friendly) Garden shed organization More tasks will be added as the project develops. We are seeking 200 volunteers to complete this project so please invite your friends, family and any large groups to enjoy this day of service in El Paso! Ongoing, we will continues to focus our efforts on the Chamizal community by support the City of El Paso and nonprofits paving the way to help residents.
