Inside the Outdoors Service Project

March 17, 2018

08:00 AM - 02:00 PM PDT

Orange County Platoon

Event overview

Join us as we partner with Inside the Outdoors at their Rancho Soñado location to clean up their outdoor education spaces. We will have projects for all skill levels and interests. We will be cleaning their pond from invasive plants, adding mulch to their trails, removing invasive plants along the trails, enclosing their pool with fabric fencing, and building a new kiosk for their entrance. About Inside the Outdoors: They work with all the schools districts in Orange County. Rancho Soñado is an environmental education facility located in the Santa Ana Mountains. Surrounded by preserves and national forest, Rancho Soñado gives students a chance to explore local ecology in a pristine environment represented by four Ecosystems: pond, a riparian area, oak woodland, and chaparral. 60% of students attending an Inside the Outdoors program are sponsored through grants and donations. Directions and parking: From Chapman/Santiago Canyon Rd. We are approximately 1 mile past Silverado School, which will be on your left. When you see a large electrical tower on your left, look for a white post/mail box with our sign "Rancho Soñado". The wrought iron gate also says Rancho Soñado. If you get to Plantenders Nursery you have gone too far. From El Toro Rd./Santiago Canyon Road. You will pass Cooks Corner, Modjeska Canyon Road and Jackson Ranch Road. Rancho Soñado is the third driveway past Plantenders Nursery. Just before the large electrical tower you will see a white post/mail box with our sign " Rancho Soñado". The wrought iron gate also says Rancho Soñado. If you get to Silverado School you have gone too far. *If there is traffic, you may want to continue down and make a u-turn at Jackson Ranch Road. Do not stop the flow of traffic on Santiago Canyon Road.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
