MLK Day Service Project - Center of Life Classroom Makeover 1

January 13, 2018

10:00 AM - 04:00 PM EST

Pittsburgh Platoon

Event overview

In celebration and honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. and his dedication to service, join Pittsburgh 1st Platoon and Center of Life for a day of service! Last year, we renovated the library room and parent lounge at Center of Life's FUSION after school site. Both of these rooms are now regularly used both during the after school program and by the community for meeting space. They loved it so much, that they have asked up to renovate their classrooms as well! This year, we will be renovating the after school classrooms! We will be painting, building, crafting and decorating 2 of the rooms during this project. We will be following up and renovating the other 2 classrooms in February! Make sure to register online, as the first 50 people registered will get a special gift of Mission Continues swag specially made for this event!

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
