Tri-Cities Platoon

Event overview

Tri-Cities 1st Platoon is teaming up with our friends over at the Court Street Starbucks to host a monthly Social for all platoon members, Veteran Service Organizations, and those who are interested in learning more about the above. Platoon Members - This is an awesome opportunity to find out what is on the calendar for TMC. Veteran Service Organizations - What a great way to reach out to our Veteran community and share upcoming happenings within your organization. Community Leaders and Potential Nonprofit Partners - Join us as we move from discussion to action, improving educational resources, increasing access to parks and green spaces, fostering neighborhood identity, and more. Socials are held monthly, on the second Monday, from 6:00-7:00 PM. Hopefully, we will see you out there, as we celebrate TMC's accomplishments, highlight upcoming events, see what other organizations have on tap, and share a beverage with our Brothers and Sisters. Report for duty in your community. Our programs and events are open to veterans of all eras with a desire to continue their service. Military service isn’t required to take action either. Our Service Platoon Program is open to all volunteers – young and old, veteran and non-veteran. Join us at a social or project near you. Invest in our work. Share the inspiring stories of veteran-led collective action in your community. We all have a role to play. It’s time to get to work.

Who We Are

The Mission Continues is a national non-profit that empowers veterans to continue serving in our nation’s under-resourced communities, giving veterans the opportunity to keep serving even after the uniform comes off, right here at home. Our programs deploy veterans and volunteers to work alongside nonprofit partners and community leaders to improve educational resources, tackle food insecurity, foster neighborhood identity, and more.

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.

What is a Service Platoon?

Service Platoons are your opportunity to engage and connect with veterans and community members while generating community impact in a real and tangible way. Led by veteran volunteer platoon leaders, each platoon works with dedicated community partners and volunteers to provide the manpower and support that they need to help them do their work more effectively.

We currently have service platoons in more than 40+ cities across the country that are having events at least once a month. Everyone is invited to serve, regardless of veteran status: a service platoon is for you if you have a passion for service.
