Veterans Day National Day of Service

November 10, 2018

09:00 AM - 01:00 PM PST

Seattle Platoon

Event overview

Veterans Day is a great opportunity to show the International District what we're made of, and how we, as a community, can move mountains. Come on out, and join the Seattle 2nd platoon this November 10th, 2018, for an amazing day of service in the International District. The platoon will join the Seattle University Veterans Center to participate in a Day of Service that will entail a sidewalk clean up along 12th Avenue, a neighborhood clean up in the Little Saigon Business District, and a tree planting at the Danny Woo Garden. Our rally point will be at Seattle University Student Center and teams will be formed with assigned sectors once we arrived at Little Saigon. Upon completion, we will all head back to Seattle University's Student Center for lunch and a joint celebration. The Mission Continues aims to support and reduce the crime presence in and around the Little Saigon Business District, and to improve the neighborhood and business facade along 12th avenue along with our partners at Seattle University. This is a light and fun project for all ages and abilities, so bring the whole family. Light breakfast and water - provided by Bank of America Lunch - provided by Seattle University

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
