Join us on one of Habitat For Humanity's new home builds to help a family in need. We will be on an active, unpaved construction site assisting in homebuilding-related activities as determined by the House Leader. This could include roofing. ***All volunteers must be on site by 0645 for the safety brief. Those arriving after will not be able to participate. Close toed shoes are a MUST What to wear: Closed toed/heel shoes, Jeans or long shorts, Hat What NOT to wear: Clothes you don't want to get dirty/ruined, Jewelry/watches, Short shorts, Tank tops What to bring: Sunscreen/sun protection (water will be provided). While Habitat will provide all necessary tools and protective gear on site, you are welcome to bring your own. If you bring your own supplies, you are responsible for removing them from the site. Minimum age to volunteer is 16 years old, with paper waiver signed on site by legal guardian. ***All volunteers MUST also register with Habitat For Humanity per the following instructions: once you have registered with TMC, email Gary Streeter at gstreeter@missioncontinues.org for the Habitat registration link. ***NOTE: the event will have about 120 vol's and limited parking so PLEASE arrive early to park and be at the job site by 0645. You will receive a parking map upon successful registration with H4H. We only have 10 slots available.

Who We Are

The Mission Continues is a national non-profit that empowers veterans to continue serving in our nation’s under-resourced communities, giving veterans the opportunity to keep serving even after the uniform comes off, right here at home. Our programs deploy veterans and volunteers to work alongside nonprofit partners and community leaders to improve educational resources, tackle food insecurity, foster neighborhood identity, and more.

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.

What is a Service Platoon? 

Service Platoons are your opportunity to engage and connect with veterans and community members while generating community impact in a real and tangible way. Led by veteran volunteer platoon leaders, each platoon works with dedicated community partners and volunteers to provide the manpower and support that they need to help them do their work more effectively. 

We currently have service platoons in more than 40+ cities across the country that are having events at least once a month. Everyone is invited to serve, regardless of veteran status: a service platoon is for you if you have a passion for service.
