Event overview

Welcome everyone to our 8th Annual Holiday Social!!!! On behalf of the NYC Leadership Team, I would like to personally thank you all for coming out, giving up your time and effort to make the events we planned for 2024 possible. We wouldn’t have gotten this far without each and every one of you. Whether you came out an hour or for the entire day, it goes a long way, and it’s greatly appreciated. We've been told many times to slow down what we've been doing this year, but we don't listen!! haha!!! We didn't come as close to our total projects number from last year. but we still did quite plenty. With things winding down around this time of year, we can shift our focus to better planning and strategizing for 2025. Let’s worry about that after the holidays. In addition, we'll have some members of leadership stepping down while others are stepping up. If all goes well, you know who's who around this time (or early 2025 the latest). Bring your family, friends, baby momma, baby daddy, sneaky link, sugar baby or that someone you've been keeping away from the spotlight! We don't judge around here (except me, I'm totally judging you). We'll have something for someone, and even if you don't want to participate and just want to chill out, that's fine too. We will have food, games, and Karaoke. If you are allergic to anything or have certain food preferences, please let us know so that we can have something for you. One Last Thing - I know pockets are tight around this time of year, but if you can, if you can make a $10 donation to the post, donate a wrapped toy and/or used coat, it would be appreciated! As you all should know by now, living in New York City, the trains/buses tend to act up on the weekends, so please plan accordingly if you plan on coming out. How to get there: By Bus: Take the M10 to Frederick Douglas Blvd and West 131st Street Take either the M2 to Adam Clayton Powell Blvd and West 131st Street By Train: Take the 2 or 3 trains to 135th street or Take the B or C trains to 135th street By Car: Enter 248 West 132nd Street, New York, NY, 10027

Who We Are

The Mission Continues is a national non-profit that empowers veterans to continue serving in our nation’s under-resourced communities, giving veterans the opportunity to keep serving even after the uniform comes off, right here at home. Our programs deploy veterans and volunteers to work alongside nonprofit partners and community leaders to improve educational resources, tackle food insecurity, foster neighborhood identity, and more.

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.

How to volunteer

What is a Service Platoon?

Service Platoons are your opportunity to engage and connect with veterans and community members while generating community impact in a real and tangible way. Led by veteran volunteer platoon leaders, each platoon works with dedicated community partners and volunteers to provide the manpower and support that they need to help them do their work more effectively.

We currently have service platoons in more than 40+ cities across the country that are having events at least once a month. Everyone is invited to serve, regardless of veteran status: a service platoon is for you if you have a passion for service.
