16 special volunteers are needed to support this year's Emerald City Ride this Sunday. Our tasks include greeting and assisting riders as they make their way through the SR 99 Tunnel (approximately 2 miles), just one highlight of the 12-mile route. Here are the details and scopes: LOCATION: E. Frontage Rd. S. – S. Royal Brougham Way (Parking lot behind Pyramid Alehouse) TIMELINE: 6:15 a.m. Volunteers gather at Start Line (Green Cascade Tents in the Parking lot) Cascade will provide breakfast snacks (fruit and pastries) and coffee. 6:40 a.m. Volunteers ride/walk to their positions (biking would be the easiest transport, the closest door is .1 miles and the furthest door is 1.3 miles from Start Line) 7 a.m. Participants released from Start Line 9 a.m. Start line closes and police and Cascade support vehicle will be sweeping behind the last rider. When you see these you are relieved of door duty. You can either head back to the start/finish line the way you or you are welcome to continue onto the route and ride the rest of the way, map of the ride also attached. Riders must reach I-5 entrance by 9:30 a.m. This concludes their volunteer work for Emerald City Ride!
