The Mission Continues Welcomes An Mines to Board of Directors

USAA Executive Becomes Seventh Member of Veteran Nonprofit’s Board

St. Louis, MO – August 22, 2024 – The Mission Continues is excited to announce the appointment of An Mines to the organization’s Board of Directors. Mines joins the national veterans nonprofit that is dedicated to empowering veterans as community-based leaders.

As Chief Risk Officer at USAA, Mines brings more than a decade of experience in military veteran-related issues with her to The Mission Continues, and her background makes her a valuable addition to the veteran service organization’s leadership team.

“We are thrilled to have someone with An’s background, experience, and passion join the team and guide The Mission Continues into further progress in helping veterans connect, serve, and make tangible impacts in under-resourced communities,” said James Gillen, Chief Development & Marketing Officer. “Her previous work in the veteran space will make for a speedy transition as TMC takes big steps into the future under her added leadership.”

Serving the nation’s veteran population hits closer to home for Mines than just her decade-plus service at USAA, as she is also a military spouse whose husband served more than 20 years in the U.S. Air Force.

“It is indeed an honor to join the Board of such a respected and esteemed organization whose expertise and focus is grounded in the well-being of this country’s proud and professional veteran population,” Mines said. “I look forward to helping guide the organization into even more examples of community impact, veteran growth, and professional opportunities.”

Mines becomes the seventh active member of TMC’s Board of Directors, and joins at an exciting time, as the organization just announced its new Chief Executive Officer, Kevin Cherep, will become its fourth CEO in its 17-year history in early September.

Originally from Belgium, Mines owns Master’s Degrees in Mathematics and Actuarial Science, as well as many professional certifications.
