Empowering Veterans: The Mission Continues’ Platoon Leadership Summit
Mar 26, 2025

The Platoon Leadership Summit took place March 2025, bringing together The Mission Continues’ Platoon Leaders (PLs), Platoon Leadership Team Members (PLTs), Alumni Leaders (PALs), and National Alumni Service Experts (ASEs) to connect, receive training, access resources, and gain support for leading impactful service projects. It also served as an opportunity to celebrate the contributions and achievements of this past year.
Veteran Leaders in Action
The summit served as a platform for veterans to enhance their leadership skills and deepen their commitment to their local TMC Service Platoon. Over several jam-packed days, we focused on:
- Connection: Engaged with fellow veterans who share a passion for service, fostering a network of support and camaraderie.
- Receiving Training: Participated in workshops and sessions designed to equip veteran leaders with the tools and knowledge needed to spearhead effective community projects.
- Accessing Resources: Gained insights into available resources that can aid in the planning and execution of service initiatives.
- Celebrating Achievements: Reflected on the contributions and successes of the past year, reinforcing the impact of collective efforts.

Driving Community Impact
Service Platoons are at the heart of The Mission Continues’ efforts. Led by veteran volunteers, these platoons collaborate with local nonprofits, civic organizations, and businesses to tackle community challenges. As of March 2025, our Service Platoons are active in over 40 cities, each working towards meaningful change.
At the Platoon Leadership Summit, Kenric Lynn, the St. Louis Platoon Leader, encapsulated just that, “We value ourselves, we value others, we value our community. We just want to make a difference.”
Post-summit, we look forward to the new connections, skills, and inspirations that will emerge within each Service Platoon.

Looking Ahead
The Platoon Leadership Summit is more than just an event; it’s a testament to The Mission Continues’ commitment to fostering leadership and community engagement among veterans. We can’t wait to see the ripple effect it will have in their local communities.
