CarMax Dedicated Day of Service in Phoenix, AZ

Any time CarMax associates say they want to come together in support of one of The Mission Continues’ platoon cities for a Dedicated Day of Service, we know that a lot of CarMax Cares shirts will be present, and the work will get done, usually ahead of schedule. This year’s service opportunity on December 11th in Phoenix was no exception, as more than 120 CarMax associates joined TMC’s Phoenix Platoon at the Garden of Tomorrow for a day of service, connectedness, purpose, and lasting community impact.
In total, more than 605 volunteer hours were recorded, leading to a total of $20,261 of economic
impact at the Garden of Tomorrow, a vital community garden space in the South Mountain region of Greater Phoenix.
Organized and hosted by Phoenix Platoon’s longtime community partner, the Tiger Mountain
Foundation, volunteers assisted this crucial space with gardening upkeep, beautification, and the
installation of solar panels.
For TMC, the collaboration with CarMax was an easy choice, as its organization and associates
embody the values of volunteerism that comes through in their core values and commitment to
community service.

The Mission Continues empowers veterans to be at the center of meaningful impact in their communities, equipping them with tools and resources to lead movements that inspire change. It’s a collective effort that allows veterans to serve in new ways, solve tough challenges, and mobilize communities to serve alongside them.
