The Mission Continues is stepping up to make a difference.

For more than 16 years, The Mission Continues has been connecting veterans with under-resourced communities. The Mission Continues empowers veterans to become community leaders through continued opportunities to serve locally and nationally.

On November 10, 2023, we launched our very first Veterans Day of Giving to honor the sacrifices of our nations veterans. We far exceeded our goal, with a total amount raised of $150,600 and 241 individual donors.

Stay tuned for more information to come about how to get involved in 2024!

What is the Veterans Day of Giving?

It’s a one-time opportunity, on Veterans Day, to participate in a movement to raise awareness and inspire support for our nation’s veterans.

As we move farther away from the events of September 11th, 2001 and the resulting wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, we have seen the national consciousness shift away from the challenges facing veterans, toward more “timely” causes. Following the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan in the fall of 2021, we have also observed a steady decrease of veteran-focused philanthropic dollars. American wars may have ended, but the impact of service on our nations’ veterans has not. The mental and physical effects of military service can be permanent and life-altering. Suicide is the second-leading cause of death for post-9/11 veterans, accounting for 22.3% of all deaths.

Our nation’s veterans give so much to protect our country and they deserve to not be forgotten. We hope to continue to make an impact over the next several years and we hope you join us next Veterans Day in giving back!
