Join your fellow Platoon members and our comrades with Team Rubicon for our Service Project at Children First Leadership Academy (CFLA) in Phoenix.
CFLA is an incredible Title I school dedicated to its students. Aside from a great education, the school receives donations so that children can receive clothing, food boxes and other items at no cost to them. CFLA has partnerships with the Phoenix Children's Hospital and local dentists to help ensure the students are healthy and taken care of. They even have a laundry on site to ensure kids have clean clothes to wear!
This is a 2-part Project; we will come back in January 2020 to finish it. CFLA has an awesome outdoor space that is not being utilized. They would love for it to be an outdoor learning space. We are going to demo the existing defunct garden, making it ready for a new one to be installed. We will also begin prep-work on a chalkboard learning mural, benches, seating, and more!
If you are able, please bring Food /Clothing Donations to help re-stock their resource room for the students. Food (think foods that a child can prepare without a stove or adult help): Cereal, Microwave Mac & Cheese, Pop-Top Spaghetti O's, Peanut Butter and Jelly, etc. Clothes: All types of serviceable (no stains, tears) clothing for youth K-8 sizes.
Youth and all all abilities are welcome at this event. Hope to see you there!

Certain host organizations, such as schools, may prohibit volunteers with certain types of criminal convictions from participating in a service project. Accordingly, The Mission Continues is requesting your consent to conduct a criminal background check in the event that your Platoon is engaging in a service project with a host organization that requires a criminal background check. By checking the box below, you authorize The Mission Continues to conduct a criminal background check.
If such a background check is required, it will be completed and used in accordance with applicable law. The Mission Continues does not automatically disqualify persons from Platoons based on criminal convictions. We want as many people as possible to have the opportunity to move forward in their lives through service, at the same time that we seek to protect the communities we serve together.
