Fellowship Opportunity - The Mission Continues
Back to Search Results
Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1976 by Millard Fuller and his wife in Americus, GA and the Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity affiliate was founded in 1986. Our affiliate started out as the Clayton County Habitat for Humanity, however in 1994 we expanded to Fayette and Henry Counties and became known as Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity. Our vision is a world in which everyone has a decent place to live. At Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity we provide a pathway to affordable housing solutions for low to moderate income families through home repair and homeonwership. We understand that affordable housing is something that is disappearing very quickly, especially in the Metro Atlanta region, so we strive to serve as an advocate for affordable housing solutions in Fayette, Henry and Clayton counties. Finally, we believe firmly in the philosophy of giving people a hand up not a hand out, so we engage our families in volunteer work with us and homeowner education classes.
