Event overview

Freedom Day is a Day of Service in Dallas where first responders, veterans, and local companies gather and volunteer together to commemorate September 11, 2001. Projects through out the Dallas area will carry on through the day and keep an estimated 700 volunteers busy helping organizations in need. This year, we are heading to Whitney Young Elementary to help out by conducting a school supply/uniform drive and of course build some stuff! Bring your gloves and get ready to build outdoor classrooms, tree benches, paint some murals plus much more! Join us and meet the Dallas Fire Department & check out the fire engine. Whitney Young Elementary School is in need of feminine hygiene products and antibacterial wipes. If volunteers can bring one item, that would be appreciated! Schedule is below: Opening remarks and breakfast begins at 8a to 9:30a at Communities Foundation of Texas: 5500 Caruth Haven Ln, Dallas TX 75255. Service project will start at 10a and end at 1p with lunch at Whitney Young Elementary: 4601 Veterans Drive, Dallas TX 75216.
