Located in the middle of Thirdward on the campus of Texas Southern University, Blodgett Urban Gardens’ purpose is to address, educate, coordinate, and provide aid and relief to eradicate chronic malnutrition and hunger through gardening and other sustainability practices. As Houston's 4th Platoon, our mission is to combat the ever-growing crisis of food deserts. Our goal is to educate the community while expanding sanction for green spaces to thrive. We are accepting all ages of volunteers and the only thing that is needed from you is a great attitude! Everything else will be onsite. We will be tasked with the following: -Planting seedlings from our “Plant the Seed,” events -Live taping of "Cooking with Blodgett Urban Garden" -Supporting the weekly farmer's market onsite -Clearing out the fence line -Gardening tasks -Clean-up and much more!
