Tampa Platoon

Event overview

The Tampa Platoon will be heading out to the farm to harvest corn to donate to our food pantry partners. All tasks will be able to be done using social distancing. We recommend you bring and wear a personal mask. Please go online and complete the Volunteer form for our partner: https://endhunger.org/florida-calendar/. Clink the link. Create a profile. Once you create your profile the first time you will only need to login with your email address and first name.

What To Wear

Closed-toed shoes (REQUIRED) Loose, lightweight clothes you don’t mind getting dirty Sunscreen Garden gloves, hat, sunglasses (I will have gloves for anyone who needs them. All gloves will be thoroughly washed ahead of time).

What to Bring

Plenty of water, you WILL need to stay hydrated Snacks if needed Bug spray & sunscreen If you have a bee allergy, please bring epi pen or whatever medication you need just in case. Bees are needed for growing veggies so please beware that you may see them, but they do not normally bother us in the corn field. DO NOT BRING: Do NOT bring any pets No pets are allowed on property, farm can lose their license if pets of any kind are seen on the property.

Parking Information

The address above is for the farmers market which will be on your left hand side. Do not turn in there but instead continue straight for about a mile. On your right hand side you will see a DEAD END sign. Immediately after, turn left into the field and park right there. I will have red gleaning flags near the entrance as well.
