We’ve seen The Mission Continues family spring into action when times get tough—and motivate others to serve a purpose greater than themselves. This Earth Day, we’re embracing that spirit and focusing on our roots as an organization—empowering veterans and helping others. In light of current events, we recognize that there is much out of our control. What we can control, however, is our effort as individuals to take positive steps for a better tomorrow while deepening our connection to each other and our communities. In the weeks leading up to April 22, members of Killeen 1st Service Platoon will participate in virtual gardening by planting seedlings to bring to community organizations when it is safe to do so, or even just to transfer them to our backyards. The main idea of this virtual gardening event is to start a mini greenhouse in your home and transfer those plants/veggies to an outdoor garden in 6-8 weeks. Planters may transfer their seedlings to a community garden or their own backyards. Find some time to strengthen your roots in service, and join us in pledging to take one or more action that directly helps create a healthier planet for us all. Charlie Mike!
