Art of Heroes

November 16, 2019

Killeen Platoon

Event overview

The Art of Heroes is a public event designed to allow veterans artists (writers, painters, sculptures, musicians) to showcase their art pieces or artworks to the public for purchase, sponsorships, or both. The event is requested and sponsored by multiple organizations, including Artist 2 Artist Showcase and two Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(C)(3) nonprofit organizations – the American Veterans Mission (AVM) and The Mission Continues (TMC). The event’s mission is to allow veteran artists to showcase their artworks to the public. The event has three essential purposes: (1) provide a venue for veteran artist to showcase their work for free to the public, (2) provide a site for the veterans to freely showcase, advertise, and sell their artworks for free within a safe environment, and (3) raise awareness of the issues that veterans tackle such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, and suicide ideations, which are often mitigated by art therapy for many of these veterans. Please come and see what these veteran artists have to offer. By attending the event, you are supporting many of our veteran artists in our local community. #CharlieMike
