Come join the Queens Platoon as we travel out to Jamaica (No, not the country...I wish, LOL) Queens to help out the good people at Rufus King Park to help putting the garden to sleep. For those who are not familiar with that term, we will be doing more of the lines of the following : planting garlic, relocating iris bulbs, weeding, and direct sowing native flowers for next season among other activities. So come out, bring a friend if you can and pray that mother nature doesn't catch an attitude that day and rain on our parade! I look forward to seeing you all there =) If you are traveling by public transit: Take the F train to Parsons Blvd and walk down 150th street towards Jamaica Ave.(If you choose this route, you may be better off staying towards the back of the train and getting out the nearest exit) .You should see a large white house when you get close to Jamaica Ave. Across the street will be the Queens court houses. or Take either the E or J trains to Sutphin Blvd/Archer Ave or Jamaica Center (If you take this route, I advise you to stay towards the back of the train and get out of the exit to your left when you go up the escalator. It will save you some time and put you across the street from the event) and walk to 150th street and Jamaica Ave. You should see a large white house when you get close to Jamaica Ave. Across the street will be the Queens court houses. OR Take the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) to Jamaica and walk to 150th Street and Jamaica Ave.(If you take this route, stay towards the front of the train, which would leave you closer to the exit). You should see a large white house when you get close to Jamaica Ave. Across the street will be the Queens court houses. AND...
